How to Make Bluey Toast!

Updated: Mar 20

If you are a Bluey loving family like we are, then you are going to LOVE this super cute and easy recipe.

What you'll need:

  • 2 pieces of toast

  • 1 piece of bread

  • Cream Cheese

  • Food Colouring

  • Blueberries

  • 1 Banana

Instructions:

  1. Put about a quarter cup of cream cheese in a bowl and mix with 1-2 drops of blue food colouring

  2. Snip 2 toast triangles from the first piece of toast for Bluey's ears and add your blue cream cheese

  3. Add more cream cheese to the sides of the other piece of toast

  4. Cut 2 circles from the plain white break and top with a banana slice and blueberries to make Bluey's eyes

  5. Cut the banana to make her eyebrows and the centres of her ears, and other markings (see the video and picture for more details)

  6. Put one piece of banana with a blueberry on top for her nose

  7. Cut a blueberry into a thin slice for her mouth and enjoy!ish with a blueberry nose! And there you have it! Bluey toast that your littles are sure to love!

Worried about food colouring? No problem! Here's how to achieve the blue cream cheese without using blue food colouring, and all you need is red cabbage and baking soda!

  1. Boil some fresh red cabbage in water for about 10-15 minutes until the water turns a deep purple.

  2. Strain the purple liquid through a fine mesh strainer and discard the cabbage.

  3. Put that purple liquid in a saucepan and stir in a small pinch of baking soda. It will turn a beautiful shade of BLUE!

  4. Simmer the liquid until it reduces by about half and seems more syrupy, then allow to cool completely.

  5. Add a small amount of this blue dye that you've created to your cream cheese, and make your own naturally dyed Bluey toast!
