Copycat Starbucks Medicine Ball
The slogan for my at-home Starbucks Medicine Ball dupe? Easy peasy lemon squeezy.
People call it a Medicine Ball or a Cold Buster, but if you're looking for it on a Starbucks menu you won't find those words. It's called the "Honey Citrus Mint Tea".
People flock to this drink when they feel a cold coming on, and rightfully so - lemon, honey and mint are great for soothing sore throats, clearing sinuses and suppressing coughs.
BUT this version is significantly less expensive than the cafe variety, requires very little effort to make, AND has significantly less sugar - so if you are feeling under the weather this one is actually better for you!
So here's the breakdown for my at-home Medicine Ball:
1/4 lemon squeezed
1 TBSP of honey (or to taste)
1 Peach Tranquility Teavana Tea Bag
1 Jade Citrus Mint Teavana Tea Bag
Hot Water
AND THAT'S IT!
If you like it a bit sweeter you can add a splash of lemonade - the one you get at Starbucks is half hot water half steamed lemonade, so if you like it sweeter then just substitute half of the hot water in my recipe for warmed up lemonade!
*note: sometimes it's difficult to find the Teavana tea. You can usually ask at Starbucks and purchase the bags individually or by the box, but if you can't find them I've linked some alternatives in my LTK post below that are perfectly comparable. I've also linked my beautiful artisan citrus juicer that you see in this video from Verve Culture - I’ve always avoided squeezing my own juices because the hand held juicers I’ve had before just never really worked that great. But now I’m squeezing fresh squeezed lemon, lime, orange and grapefruit all day long! It would make a great gift too, and comes in 4 beautiful handmade colours (mine is the Rose Gold).

Hope you enjoy this awesome cold buster, and feel good about saving some money!
